She's sweet - how is everyone in the house adjusting?

Yes, what Kimmer said, except for the sweet part.

The cats are too busy moping upstairs to come down......

The Baron is over the moon, but we are both finding it hard. It is weird having a dog!

Plus we both miss ratbagcat.

Lila is adorable, and should really help you all move forward because she will need so much attention. I'm sorry this is so hard...it will be hard for a while. But eventually you will think of Harvey and smile. You will still miss him, but you will smile instead of cry.
Just take your time. How is the Baron feeling? Is he able to move around better?

The Baron is doing well. HE is sore around his joints still, but he plans to go back to work on Monday.

He would go back tomorrow, but with Lila being so new he is going to hang on.

Lila has already earned brownie points if she's keeping the Baron at home for a few more days. He needs to give himself more time to rest.

Death of someone we love or care about really stinks. Of course, you know it's a grieving process, and that means you won't be over it today or next month or even forever.

And that's all right. I expect that we'll see random posts from you where you'll show a range of emotion . . . anger, despair, joy, and so on.

Is the Baron eager to return to work? If so, he reminds me of my dad. My dad receives injuries that would probably cause me to pass out (diesel mechanic, he is), yet he just washes them out and goes on. Desire to work is an admirable quality, yet it can be frustrating when one feels the need to work all the time. I'm thinking of the workaholic breed, here -- never slowing down, it seems.

I'm just rambling on about . . . whatever.

Is Lila potty trained? Heh.

Amy, I am sure you are right.

I know I will miss the little bastard forever, and I will have to post when it gets too much. None of my RL friends are true cat people.

The Baron is just like your dad, but doesn't usually get too injured. It isn't that he is a workaholic, he just wants the social aspect of his job.

And Lila is not completely housetrained. Her full name is Delilah Harveyetta Puddleduck. I am sure you understand the relevance.

I can imagine the mixed emotions right now. Lila is adorable and I love her full name. I hope the cats don't bully her too much.
